Manipulation data for physical AI
The data layer for
perceptual and physical intelligence
Thenar is building infrastructure for physical intelligence, starting with human manipulation data: the data that teaches robots to recover, not just to succeed.
Robot models handle rigid objects in tidy scenes well. They still struggle with soft, deformable things like cloth, cables and bags, and with getting back on track after a slip. That’s where the data runs out.
We’re recording skilled hands doing this work, pairing egocentric video with fingertip touch, and labelling every slip, fumble and recovery, so models learn the path back and not only the happy path.
We’re working with a small group of manipulation teams. If there’s data your models need and can’t get, we’d like to hear what it is.
